Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM share a common corporate parent and much of their key and immobilizer technology, though the lineup spans everything from compact cars to full-size trucks. Older vehicles in this group from before the early 2000s used plain mechanically-cut keys. Since the early-to-mid 2000s, most models have used transponder (chip) keys that must be recognized by the vehicle's immobilizer. More recently, many Jeep Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500, Charger, and Challenger models have moved to proximity fobs with push-button start, and this group also includes some of the more complex programming procedures we encounter, particularly on newer Jeep and RAM trims.

We've also programmed fobs on newer models like the Jeep Compass, and we continue to add coverage as new model years come out. Because this group covers such a wide range of vehicles and key systems, and pricing varies more by specific model and year than makes with a more standardized lineup, we quote Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM jobs directly over the phone rather than publishing a flat rate.

Before we come out, we ask for your VIN, year, make, and model, and whether you have a working key, a spare, or none at all — that's usually enough to identify the key generation and give you a real number, not a placeholder "starting at" price. If a job turns out to need more than expected once we're on-site, we'll always confirm the price with you before doing the work.

A Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM dealership can cut and program keys too, but usually only during business hours with your vehicle on their lot, and complex jobs can mean leaving the truck overnight.
